Differentiated Service Delivery & Comprehensive Sexuality Education

In 2018 we were given a grant as sub-recipient of Churches Health Association of Zambia (CHAZ). The funding was implemented through the Differentiated Service Delivery (DSD) in 8 district of Southern Province. It was also implemented in the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) program in Monze and Choma. These programs were run for three consecutive years.

Differentiated Service Delivery (DSD) is a program that was globally introduced by the Ministry of Health (MOH) in conjunction with organizations, clinics and Health Centres. The aim was to decongest the amount of people living With HIV//AIDS (PLWHA) in the health sectors through the creation of Community Access Points (CAP) in different zones were stable clients are enabled to access their ART medication on a 3 month or 6 months basis.

Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) is a program which has been included in the Zambia school curriculum to be taught in secondary school. Organization has come on board to support the government’s effort to extensively roll out the program in 6 schools of Monze and Choma. The schools were responsible to carry out the program, they selected a focal person and 20 peer educator who were in charge in forming the school clubs. The Clubs entails the organising of activities such as debates, drama, HIV Testing Services (HTS), Gender Norms, and Stakeholders meetings to enhance knowledge and behaviour change.
