Women Economic Empowerment

Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) is one of the most influential routes for women to achieve their potential and support their families. Women who are economically empowered contribute to their families, society, and the communal economy. Research has shown that when women are provided sufficient skills and educational opportunities, they are more likely to benefit in feed their families nutritious food and send their children to school. On each of our own sites we apply adapted programs for Income Generating Activity (IGA). In Chawama the women are foundbaking scones and village banking. Meanwhile, in Mtendere the women are able to practise tailoring. With this skills they were able to generate an income through sewing the uniforms for children at The Learning Tree Pre-School and Nursery.
